just got back from spending two weeks at our cottage…  it was a fantastic time.  the weather was amazing, probably the dryest weeks we have had since the spring.  I didn’t get to take as many pictures as I would have liked, but here is my favourite shot of the trip.

recently my wife and I started to talk about making an investment in real estate.  we went through several phases.  we thought about some more typical ideas like buying a duplex in the city and much more exotic ones such a buying a condo in mexico that was part of a rental pool.  we ended up feeling most comfortable with buying a vacation property with the intetion of renting it out on a weekly basis in the summer.  my thought initially went to lake huron where I have many fond memories of going to the beaches there in the summer.  we looked at several places on Lake Huron and on Georgian bay and ended up settling on a place in the small community of Balm Beach, 10m west of Midland and 20m North of Wasaga Beach, Ontario.

We noticed the colourful playgroud just a block away from our house last fall and I thought to myself, that is going to be a great spot for pictures in a few months.  and sure enough, it was.

I normally stick to one photo per post, but there are too many good ones here to pass up on.

The highlight of the afternoon was the swing.  It kept him amused, smiling and laughing for several minutes.

I took my camera out today. dusted it off along with my flash and captured Clark whilst getting a bath in the sink. what a happy little guy.

I found this sweet video today that will allow me to de-restrict my scooter to gain an extra 6km/h or so top speed (that’s 10% faster!!!).

Edit: (Apr-10)  I removed the washer that limits the scooter’s speed yesterday afternoon and sure enough I can go at least 5km/h faster now on flat terrain or downhill.  SCHWEEEET!!!

Well, I finally got around to assembling our new BBQ over the weekend, and last night we enjoyed our first burgers of the season. The result? Absolutely delicious!!!! Hooray for spring!!!

Vegas was awesome, Monster Jam 2008 was awesome. Got lots of great pics.  If you think this photo is remotely cool, then some of the others will blow you away.

Clark is a happy baby and last week was no exception. He was very excited to cut his first teeth. In fact he was so excited he posed showing off his teeth for me… Don’t believe me? check it out…

man, I can’t wait until we leave for Las Vegas later this week.  It’s going to be fantastic, mostly because it will be over 20 celcuis.  I wish we had Las Vegas weather around here…  I’m sure I’ll be taking a zillion pictures so you can check back the beginning of next week and see lots of great photos.

what a ridiculous pile of steaming dung. it’s like a bad biotech company which had it’s obi-wan kenobe drug rejected by the FDA.

I wonder who’s next to have their stock decimated? There sure has been many casualties today (LEH, MF etc.)
